Nol Visser's 70th Birthday

Ireland, October 2002

We had a great trip to Ireland in October! We spent a few days in Dublin before we went to the country for a week. Above left: A trip to Grafton Street and a visit to a street vendor. Above right: Grafton Street. Right: Emma tries Caroline's violin.

We went to the West of Ireland and stayed in Rosleague Manor. Below left: the door to the manor and the view from the door. Below right: a picture of the manor.

We had the blessing of a few days of great weather.

Below right: a small town near Letterfrack. We came here because the sign for the boat (see next picture set) said there was no boat. It turned out that no one had bothered to change the sign.

Despite the "mystery boat" we made it to the water on a great day by any standards. The water was like a miror. Above left: Piet and Emma go on the tour of Ireland's only Fjord. Above right: Brook enjoys the view of the fjord. Right: A rare picture of Piet and Brook. Below left: relaxing in the boat. Below right: Trude, Brook and Emma on the boat.

Above left: A view of the west. Above right: Brook, Emma, Kathleen, Trude and Nol. Left: Another view of the west. Below left: The first picture of the party. Below right: The cake!
Above left: Mike and "the sweater"! Above right: Piet, Brook and Emma. A nice elderly man offered to take a picture of us all together. Emma decided that she didn't want any unknown person taking pictures of her. Below: Brook and Emma with Bray head in the background. Below right: The rose petal exibit in Dun Laoghaire. The mail piece that we got showed someone being deluged with rose petals. The real thing was less dramatic.
